The iPhone can be used as a PDA, or mobile phone. Besides using iPhone to make phone call, users can use the Mail app to read emails from their email inbox. You can easily setup a new mail account on your iPhone.
To create a new mail account, tap Mail on the home screen. Under Settings, tap on the Mail, Contacts, Calendars. In the Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen, tap on the Add Account. iPhone supports a number of major email services including Microsoft Exchange, mobileme, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, and AOL. If you use other types of email services, tap on Other. After you tapped on the Add Account, tap on the Add Mail Account. When the account information pane appears, enter your name, email address, password and description for your email account. Users will use the onscreen keyboard at the bottom of the screen to input the character. On the next screen, you should enter the grid service account details. It is highly recommended that you use your access domain so that the SSL can be enabled properly.
After iPhone had verified your account information, you are redirected to the Accounts screen. In the Accounts screen, select the account you just created. Then, scroll down to enter the Outgoing Mail Server information for the email account. The security features provided by ISPs has make it possible for AT & T to develop a universal SMTP which iPhone users can use send email from their iPhone through a 3G or Edge network. You should choose the SMTP option. In the next screen, select the AT & T SMTP server option. To activate the service, select On. If you want to deactivate the service, select the Off option. After that, tap on the SMTP button on top of your iPhone and return to the previous screen. You have successfully added your email account to your iPhone.
