There are so many seo tips out there that will help you with Google and Bing. What about yahoo? Yahoo still has up to 20% of internet searches. That’s a lot of searches! If you’re not on Yahoo, then you should be.

Heres how to gain rankings and stay on top of the Yahoo search engine:

1. Before you begin building your new, awesome website. You should have a good domain for it. Never use a .net or .org. They are terrible for branding. Always stick with a .com. Also, the domain that you choose should be easy to understand and type. You want something relevant to the topic or subject you will be building your website on. A domain is your brand. Make sure you pick a good one!

2. Get a good host. I can’t tell you how many times people build great websites, optimize them amazingly, only to have them go down with a surge of traffic. You don’t want this happening to you — believe me. Pick a good, reliable host that will be able to handle the traffic you are expecting. If possible, try to buy a vps (virtual private server). This will insure that you have a dedicated amount of RAM and space on a hard-drive.

3. Perform keyword research like a professional. Take the time out to learn how to perform great keyword research. The keywords you choose and use will result in the amount of traffic you get. So learn it, do it, and improve on it. The better your keywords the more traffic you will get.

4. Once you have a good list of keywords. You’re going to need to start building content around them. You can do this by creating videos, audio, or articles. The latter being the easiest and most used. Always use the keyword in the article title and a few times in the article itself. This will insure a good crawl and hopefully a fast indexing.

5. Once you have your articles fully finished, edited, and published. You need to start back-linking them. Back-links can be compared to the blood of a human. They keep everything moving and functioning. You need back-links to show search engines that your content is being shared and needs a higher rank. The more back-links that you have the higher you will rank.

Yahoo is the second largest search engine. Even with Bing growing. Yahoo continues to hold its place and stand strong. There is no reason you shouldn’t be involved. Get ranked on Yahoo and start bring in the traffic!
